Day by Day

Once you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and unwind. Later in the evening, you'll participate in a tour briefing to prepare for the safari ahead. Your accommodation includes full-board amenities.

Distance: 120 km
Non-game viewing time: 2 – 3 hours

After breakfast at your lodge in Arusha, our safari driver-guide will meet you. You will depart for Tarangire National Park, stopping briefly in Arusha town for any last-minute purchases. The drive will take you along the Great Northern Highway, passing through the Masai steppe and various villages.

Tarangire, the fifth largest national park in Tanzania, lies at the foot of the Great East African Rift Valley. The park features low-lying hills covered in acacia woodland, giant baobab trees, and savannah grasslands.

The main attractions of this park include a large population of elephants, the Tarangire River (a permanent water source), and the immense baobab trees, which dwarf the animals beneath them. You may see herds of wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and various antelopes.

Primates such as baboons, blue monkeys, and vervet monkeys inhabit the park. Predators like lions, hyenas, jackals, and the elusive leopard, which requires keen eyes to spot, can also be seen.

In the late afternoon, you will drive across the Great East African Rift Valley to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner, a campfire, and overnight stay.

Distance: 145 km
Non-game viewing time: 3 – 4 hours

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, driving through the picturesque high-lying farmland of Karatu and up to the Ngorongoro gate. After check-in, continue driving up and along the Crater rim, stopping for photos at the crater viewpoint. Proceed around the Crater rim and down to the wildlife-rich Serengeti National Park with its endless rolling plains.

On the way, visit a Masai village where Masai warriors will share stories about their life in the area. Participate in a Q&A session, visit their homes, meet the children and family members, and enjoy a traditional song and dance performance featuring high jumping. Continue driving with an en-route game drive to Naabi Hills Gate for check-in before heading to the Central Serengeti area called Seronera.

Seronera is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Serengeti, featuring the Seronera River, the main water source that attracts a variety of wildlife representative of the Serengeti’s species. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the kopjes (rocky outcroppings). In the afternoon, embark on a game drive to witness the Wildebeest Migration. Finally, head to your lodge before sunset for dinner, a campfire, and overnight stay.

Non-game viewing time: 4–5 hours

Start your day with the first rays of the sun at 06:30. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for an unforgettable game drive. Fed by water from the highlands and abundant fodder, this area is rich in wildlife, including herds of wildebeest, giant African elephants, eland, zebra, warthog, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. The renowned Big Five—lion, leopard, buffalo, black rhino, and African elephant—can often be spotted during a single day of game driving. A packed lunch will be served at the crater floor.

Another remarkable feature of this picturesque crater is its dense population of predators, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and the elusive leopard, which requires a trained eye to spot. You will visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake that serves as one of the water sources in the crater. Flamingos, hippos, and other aquatic birds can be seen here.

Enjoy game drives until the afternoon, then begin your return journey to Arusha. If you are not flying out the same day, you can visit some Masai markets or shopping centers on your way back. Arrive in Arusha late in the afternoon for an overnight stay. (Accommodation can be arranged upon request at an extra cost).
